Derelict to Dream
Transformed from a derelict building, this home was the dream of a young couple on a tight budget.
In addition to the existing foundation, we were able to reuse the septic and water systems. Thoughtful design yielded an attractive and practical layout, with cost-efficient construction features. Historic materials were reused for interest and cost savings. More savings were gleaned from creative flooring and electrical and siding choices, and the owners doing some of the work themselves. The result was a beautiful passive solar home with gorgeous Camel’s Hump views and historic accents, costing the owners only $100/sq ft.
