Refined lodge describes the elegant, yet casual, character of this home.
Its owners designed it to accommodate extended family, yet have a cozy feel thanks to thoughtful proportions. Unique details include a shingle exterior reminiscent of their former summer home on the Outer Banks, covered porches that provide ample shade, custom transoms above doors, and three rustic stone fireplaces, including one in our favorite room, a screened porch. Granite countertops, antique heart pine floors, and Douglas fir cabinets, staircases, and doors are some of the quality materials. Energy efficient foam insulation coupled with an air-to-air heat exchange system minimizes operating costs and impact while creating a healthy living environment. The house location overlooks a pre-existing pond, yet takes optimum advantage of stunning mountain views.
