“I engaged Sisler Builders to fix a roof ice dam that was destroying our roof and starting to create water damage. They proposed an energy audit first – at a nominal fee to provide the analytical data on what needed to be done that made sense financially to fix the problem as well as overall energy efficiency payback. The analysis came back with a list of items that all met the criteria for Efficiency Vermont rebates. This amounted to almost 10% of the cost and Sisler would handle the paperwork. We did it all including substantial air gap sealing and roof insulation. The guys were very professional and accommodating – they even agreed to free up the cabin one weekend by moving their equipment out so we could use it. Then they did a post construction audit. We had forecast a 35 % reduction in air flow. Instead we got 55%. Efficiency Vermont gave the full rebate plus a $500 bonus.”
