Custom Therapy Spa
The creation of this addition, an indoor therapy spa, was a collaboration of many key players.
The owner/artist, mechanical and structural engineers, concrete and tile contractors, excavator, HydroWorx pools, and our talented construction and woodworking teams. The owner drew her vision of the spa to scale on drafting paper and showed us what she wanted for finishes. We used the sketches to create a 3-D model on Sketchup that the owner could edit and that all contractors could work from. The heart and main purpose of the addition is the pool and its underwater treadmill, an installation feat that required thoughtful coordination among all parties involved. An 18-foot-wide portion of the spacious room opens to the outside patio with folding Lanai doors and disappearing roll-back screens. The addition became a delightful space for rehab therapy during the Covid pandemic, when leaving home for therapy was too risky. It is also a comfortable, secluded place to relax and feel connected to the outdoors.
